Fog Study - painting a day

"Fog Study II" 5x7in, oil on canvas SOLD

This is painting number 10 in my painting a day personal challenge. I really labored over getting the colors of the distant trees and foreground hill correct, and I think the result is a bit overworked, and still not quite right. Chalk it up to another learning experience.

Nice solid composition. The simple shapes are really nice and recede nicely into the distance.

I like your landscapes very much. The colors are great. Some of them remind me of Cezanne.

This is a good one! I especially like the warm/cool interplay on the background trees.

like the feel of this...a painting of "air"...or so would say Monet!

This is what I like about sharing work on this blog. I had pretty much given up on this painting. But reading the kind comments of Tim, Leslie and Larry, I think I'm stuck looking at all the ways the painting didn't conform to my original vision. Perhaps I need to let it have a life of its own and judge it on its own merits

Wonderful composition--I love the rich darks curving through the middle. It looks like you're doing really well with your Etsy store. Congratulations!

I find it almost impossible to judge the merits of my own work. Sounds like you do too.
I love your paintings.

There's a fleshy, feminal quality about this one.
