Weight of the Harvest
"Weight of the Harvest", oil on canvas, 5x7", SOLD
I really like painting the geometry of orchards. They have both repetition and variation as each tree is an individual in a matrix of precise orientation. I also like the color variation of gravenstein apples - from deep red to a glowing yellow gold. All in all, a wonderful subject to paint.

Very nice, Kris.
This is a very nice painting. The color, the depth, the subject matter it all works so well.
The values in this and your last painting really caught my eye and pull me into them. I sense the slightest change of color intesity in the fruit from right to left really nailing the composition.

Tim - thanks for the compliment on the values. I'm finding the smaller paintings are really forcing me to work with value more carefully.
Your paintings bring out the happiness in me ...
