North Coast Fence - painting a day

"North Coast Fence" oil on canvas panel, 5x7", SOLD

I like the rhythm of the old redwood fences. This fence was near the coast, north of Jenner, and the mist from the ocean muted the colors of the hills.

Beautiful. I grew up going out to Jenner and Goat Rock. I like your reference to the rhythm of the old fences, and the way you capture it, in this piece. Thank you!

Beautiful! I love the colors! It was great visiting your blog today and catching up on all the beautiful paintings. It was interesting reading about your panel prep and your thoughts about contrast in small paintings. I agree that it's much harder to judge when further apart. I'll be up near your part of the world tomorrow. I'm taking my sister to a spa in Freestone for her birthday and then will do some sketchbook paintings (I hope) around there.

I love the spa in Freestone. The gardens are lovely there - a perfect place to quietly sketch.
